Active power corridors, operating ports, sophisticated process plants and cross-border asset relocation.

Trinidad and Tobago
Boilers, turbines and power-station structures dismantled within an active urban power corridor, with engineering, substructure removal and environmental work coordinated around surrounding infrastructure.
The POWERGEN assignment included environmental permitting coordination, engineered demolition plans, lifts exceeding 60 tons, oil and acid removal, asbestos abatement and waste segregation. Controls addressed roads, neighborhoods and waterways. The T&TEC transmission assignment required selective demolition and remediation beside rights-of-way and neighboring buildings, including asbestos and oil-related work.

Trinidad and Tobago
Industrial demolition, dismantling, remediation and asset recovery while ships, cranes, transport equipment and petrochemical and offshore operators remained active nearby.
No net demolition cost to the owner on this assignment.
Heavy structural dismantlement, critical lifts, crane coordination and controlled torch cutting were supported by dust and debris controls, active-utility protection and daily staging, pausing and resequencing. Engineered planning and materials recovery enabled safe completion at no net demolition cost to the owner.

Germany
Plant acquisition, industrial asset evaluation, decommissioning, equipment recovery and sale of assets and property following facility shutdown.
The Beta gasification facility combined steam-turbine generation, transformers, switchgear and emergency generation with nitrogen and hydrogen compression, pumps, chillers, heat exchangers and cooling towers. Environmental and site interfaces included wastewater, cold-water, fire protection, thermal-gas flare systems, tank farms and redevelopment considerations.

Europe to China
A complete process-system dismantlement for international relocation. Equipment was identified, match-marked, preserved, packaged and shipped to China for reconstruction and reuse.
The facility also included reactors, tanks, drums, extensive valves and piping, and specialty-metal systems in stainless steel, duplex stainless steel, Hastelloy and zirconium. Boxing, crating, export preparation and container loading maintained equipment identity, followed by technical support for reassembly.

China and Jamaica
Consulting and development engagements extend the company’s role into constructability, energy and utility considerations, decommissioning strategy, ports and infrastructure planning.
These are advisory and development engagements, distinct from the field execution projects presented here.

Venezuela
Emergency response and coordination of demolition services, rescue-response services and infrastructure contracting support.
The assignment extends Spirtas Worldwide’s international experience into emergency conditions, where demolition and infrastructure work are coordinated with response activities and local stakeholders.
03 / United States experience
Major power assets, manufacturing facilities, contaminated sites and demanding demolition schedules.

Moss Landing, California
Bidding, engineering, permitting, project management and selected demolition in support of the contracting entity awarded the demolition.
Scaffold installation, environmental abatement and site engineering required coastal and local agency, Cal-OSHA and union coordination. The project record includes $6.4 million of environmental remediation and two 230-foot roof-hung boilers.

Sauget, Illinois
Direct owner engagement for above-grade remediation and demolition, with engineering coordination for deteriorating structures.
Dismantlement sequencing was developed with Thornton Tomasetti. Scope included six 400-foot smokestacks, approximately 300,000 square feet of slabs, mezzanines and equipment, asbestos remediation and oil recovery. Interfaces included river and rail access, active transloading, and coal and cement operations.

Hannibal, Ohio
Three million square feet of industrial demolition coordinated with redevelopment and extensive materials recovery.
Scope included two 250-foot stacks, a 100-foot scrubber, a 150-foot carbon-processing structure and disposal of 12,000 tons of spent pot lining containing cyanide and fluoride. Reported scrap processing included 18 million pounds of aluminum, 5 million pounds of copper and 60,000 tons of steel. Environmental work included asbestos and universal waste remediation and protection of the Ohio River.

Sauget, Illinois
Demolition and remediation of a 150,000-square-foot industrial facility with integrated smelter and process structures.
Scope included smelter reactors, a filter-press structure, a raw-material feed hopper and cell rooms. Phase I and II environmental assessments, asbestos and universal waste removal, soil contamination and wastewater management informed execution. Controls addressed heavy metals, hot work, working at height, rigging and regulated below-grade activity.

Lawrence, Kansas
Accelerated winter demolition and excavation, delivered on time and under budget.
Around-the-clock holiday work released areas for new pier construction and stadium components. Two ultra-high-reach excavators, twelve multipurpose heavy excavators and a 50-person crew supported removal of light towers, stadia, the 150-foot press box and facility strip-out.

Kansas City, Missouri
Structural and site demolition at a 2,517,000-square-foot facility, with asset liquidation and protection of active tenant areas.
Planning addressed a 40-acre site, utility cuts, plumbing-loop reconfiguration, site security, asbestos and lead abatement, universal waste remediation and hot-work fire watch. Slab control, restoration and post-demolition barriers supported the site’s transition.
Protecting retained structures, surrounding streets and continuing operations.
June to November 2021. Approximately 500,000 square feet of interior gut-out and 200,000 square feet of structural demolition. Work included mercury collection, asbestos and universal waste remediation, utility disconnects, confined spaces and critical fire watch.
Interior gutting, selective structural and outbuilding demolition, asset liquidation and scrap-sharing arrangements. Removal of rooftop mechanical equipment and boiler-room stacks required rigging, hot-work controls and protection of retained roofs.
February 2021 to April 2022. Interior gutting, elevated mezzanine removal, selective demolition and asset liquidation. Utility rerouting, roof protection, dust and noise controls supported work beside active tenants.
Interior gut-out, elevated mezzanine removal, selective structural demolition and equipment salvage. Scope included 140 rooftop mechanical units, utility rerouting, refrigerant recovery, remaining-column engineering and roof protection.
The downtown assignment included 260,000 square feet of structural demolition, below-grade foundation removal, engineered fill, asbestos abatement and universal waste remediation. Controls included street and pedestrian rerouting, utility disconnections, air-quality permitting, dust and noise controls. Selective sawcutting preserved designated art-mural elements.
Planning for a three-level below-grade garage included structural support, tiebacks and soil nailing. More than 24 months of planning and city discussions addressed perimeter-wall support around utilities, existing structures, traffic lanes and public rights-of-way. This profile represents the engineering and planned scope.
